Volunteers

Join us as a volunteer at the A Future & A Hope Conference! This annual event, set for March 2nd, 2024, at The For the City Center, is a beacon of support, education, and empowerment for foster, adoptive, and kinship families, as well as those passionate about making a difference in the child welfare space.

Here's your chance to make an impact and be involved in various roles that contribute to the success of this inspiring gathering. As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Crafting Volunteer for Decor: Contribute your creativity to make the conference space vibrant and welcoming. This may include following instructions to help create centerpieces for the tables. Materials and instructions will be provided.
  • Direct Parking: Help manage parking logistics for attendees.
  • Assist with Check-in: Be the welcoming face that sets the tone for a day of learning and community building.
  • Greet and Assist in the Lobby: Offer guidance and assistance to attendees as they arrive.
  • Support Coffee Services: Keep attendees energized by helping with the coffee stations.
  • Childcare Worker's Aide: Support childcare workers with logistics and ensure they have the assistance they need. This may include helping them find their provided lunches/snacks.
  • Support the AV Team: Help guarantee flawless audiovisual experiences during presentations by providing vital support to the AV Team. Tasks might include activating microphones or speakers, timing music cues, ensuring camera recording, or even ensuring their meals are taken care of.
  • Assist General Session Speakers: Provide support to general session speakers before and during their presentations.
  • Support Breakout Speakers: Assist breakout session presenters to make their sessions and setups run smoothly. This may include helping them find their room, connecting their laptop to a tv for presentations, finding an outlet in the room for them to charge their devices, making sure they have water, or reminding them to end/begin their sessions on time.
  • Aid in Conference Breakdown: Assist in wrapping up and dismantling after the conference to ensure a smooth conclusion.

By volunteering, you will help foster hope and drive change within our community.

Join us on March 2nd for a day filled with insightful sessions, thought-provoking discussions, and the chance to connect with a community dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of adoptive, foster, and kinship care children and families.
